  • Every "fixed" interleague rivalry that has occurred in a World Series

    NY Yankees-NY Mets: 2000 (NYY 4-1)
    Chicago Sox-Chicago Cubs: 1906 (CWS 4-2)
    Detroit-Pittsburgh: 1909 (PIT 4-3)
    Kansas City-St. Louis: 1985 (KC 4-3)
Oakland-San Francisco: As Philadelphia VS.New York in 1911 (PHA 4-2) and 1913 (PHA 4-1), as Oakland VS. San Francisco in 1989 (OAK 4-0)
The playoffs should expand eventually, but only if MLB itself expands.

See my blog for more info.

I agree that mlb should do something about the playoffs........A 1 game WC is a joke. Wash Nats would not have been in playoffs on the old system......KC Royals would never have won in 2015........MLB needs to go back to two leagues 15 teams in each and the top 2 teams meet in the WS.......Inter league is a joke and the playoffs are too long........What happens when two cold weather teams (like Boston and Chicago) meet in WS and they go into Nov.......Weather plays a factor as you go deeper into Oct.......Playoffs/WS should end no later than Oct 15-17..........Pretty soon MLB will need neutral sites for the WS because of weather......or God for bid....Dome stadiums..........

Um.....we already have 15 teams in each league and you can't get rid of Interleague play if you have that set-up. And having no playoffs isn't going to happen so let's stop looking for solutions that became obsolete 50 years ago.
