  • Player most similar to YOU!

We know baseball reference most similar players feature doesn't do a very good job. How about we do our own Most Similar To Us player? (this won't work well for you youngins not yet in your twenties)

Mine would be one of two.

Check out the latest Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Rookie Status & More of Jeff Little. Get info about his position, age, height, weight, draft status, bats, throws, school and more on Baseball-reference.com

Both of us called by the same first name
    Both born in Ohio
Both born within three years of 1957
    Both bat right
    Both throw left
    Both tall and fairly thin
I, like he, wouldn't have lasted long

    Other one is

Check out the latest Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Rookie Status & More of Steve Engel. Get info about his position, age, height, weight, draft status, bats, throws, school and more on Baseball-reference.com

    Both born in Ohio
Both born in the early 60s
Both born on the 31st of the month
    Both bat right
    Both throw left
    Both tall and fairly thin
Both not good at striking out batters
I, like he, wouldn't have lasted long
Mythical SF Chronicle scouting report: "That Jeff runs like a deer. Unfortunately, he also hits AND throws like one." I am Venus DeMilo - NO ARM! I can play like a big leaguer, I can field like Luzinski, run like Lombardi. The secret to managing is keeping the ones who hate you away from the undecided ones. I am a triumph of quantity over quality. I'm almost useful, every village needs an idiot.

I'd say Reed Johnson. He is a gritty speedy player who is not afraid to get hit and dive for a ball. Every fly ball is catchable when it goes to wherever he is playing in the outfield which is where I play too. He also likes to lay down bunts and can get a hit off of one, I like to do that too. I base my game entirely on Reed. I play exactly like him, the only difference I can spot out between us is that he bats right and I bat left, other than that I think we're the same person. That's why he's my favourite player on the team and I think always will be.

Imagine a slower, less powerful, and somewhat worse fielder than Wade Boggs. I play 3rd base too. I pretty much practice my swing at least once a week, even in the winter, and love hitting. I am not completly blaming genetics, but both my dad and mom are not extremly muscular (dad a middle infielder though and was captain of his high school) and as a result I am not that strong. I do well at hitting because I can usually place where the ball where I want it. I still struggle with curveballs, but eh. If I was bigger, I would love to play 1b. As a player (relative to leauge in speaking) we are sort of similar.

I don't have a porn star girlfriend though.

I would have to compare myself to right-handed Jason Giambi with less power. We are both slow and bad fielders. Giambi drives in a lot of runs and draws a lot of walks. That is basically my game.

Maybe Matt Stairs. Both real big, slow, strong Canadian guys who don't know what a glove is for. Maybe Mark McGwire for the same reasons, except he's not Canadian. But a few opposing players have insinuated that I might have taken some form of steroids.

When an announcer once said that Luis Castillo is like Ichiro Suzuki but with less power, I realized I'm like Luis Castillo with less power.

Speedy second baseman who gets on but managing to make enough contact he can run to second.

              We're even both switch hitters!
Hey, this is my public apology for suddenly disappearing and missing out on any projects I may have neglected.

Coco Crisp. We play(ed) the same position and are pretty good defensively. His .268/.330/.382 line last year was pretty similar to mine my senior year of high school.... In other words, we can't hit. We both steal a good amount of bases as well.

My first thought was Mendoza. But you'd have to throw in Edgar Martinez's fielding and running...

God, I would be just about any number of countless (good fielding) 1st baseman/outfielders! I am very tall (6'5") long arms long legs, good glove good fielding. Decent power but not great (more a doubles hitter) weak arm (why I played 1rst) decent speed, I can run fast but not that fast. Bad back and knees, only thing that throws it all off I am right handed. But all that just described countless 1rst basemen that have played in the MLB over the years!

I find it VERY hard to believe you have much less power than me. Mid-center is a huge accomplishment for me. I pray people aren't on base when I come up to bat because that means I have to try and get the ball in the air.
