  • Japanese team scores 66 runs in 2 innings!

I originally heard this story on the radio so I googled it when I got home. The poor pitcher on the losing team gave up all 66 runs and threw over 200 pitches!!!

    WAR? Prove it!

Now there's a boxscore I'd pay to see!
"They put me in the Hall of Fame? They must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel!"
-Eppa Rixey, upon learning of his induction to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Motafy (MO-ta-fy) vt. -fied, -fying 1. For a pitcher to melt down in a big game situation; to become like Guillermo Mota. 2. The transformation of a good pitcher into one of Guillermo Mota's caliber.

I know Japanese pitchers work longer then most MLB pitchers, but does this school not have any relief pitchers?

Ive got no idea how this happens. I mean, 3 outs is not that hard to get...you dont even have to be a good pitcher to get 3 outs. THis is amazing. I agree, I too would like to see a box score. I really feel sorry for that kid if he went to school the next day!

Just a note to all the active members of BBF, I consider all of you the smartest baseball people I have ever communicated with and love everyday I am on here. Thank you all!

You'd think at some point the coach would bring in the right fielder or shortstop to pitch.
Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.-Crash Davis

And I thought the first game of baseball I played (40 years ago now) was a thrashing, we lost 56-0 in the under 12's. At least we got through 5 innings. We only had one pitcher so he threw the whole game, in fact we only had one of everything and none of us had ever played before. Funnily enough we had so much fun that we turned up the next week, and got another hiding (maybe 20-0). We only won one game all season but every kid turned up again next season and so it went.

I played on a team like that. We lost every game in the regular season, then came the playoffs (All five teams made the playoffs). Obviously, we were the lowest seed. The playoffs had a double-elimination format and we lost the first game. So we played another team that lost their first game. We were down 5-4 (or something like that) and scored a couple runs in the top of the 7th. Bottom of the seventh, one out and a runner on first and we turned a double play. We were so excited to win agame, we celebrated like we won the World Series. We lost the next game so that was it but it was fun

Just felt like telling that story...

I'll bet there were at least a couple (or a couple dozen) unearned runs. :cap:
