    Batting without gloves

I know that Jake Peavy bats without gloves and you don't normally see that nowadays. Are there any other player today that don't use batting gloves? I'd like to see more players bat without them. Would that affect their batting average or just their manicures?

I believe that Vladamir Guerrero and Moises Alou don't wear them.

Alou urinates on his hands. He believes it toughens them up.
      Maybe he should wear gloves.

Posada does the samething, he also dosen't wear batting gloves maybe it's a puerto rican ballplayer thing. Posada says he does it because he is a catcher I don't know why Alou would do it.

I think it's more of way of acting like a traditional baseball player.

Jason Kendall batted without gloves for a long time. Then he wussed out.

I know Posada does, it's like when they put there hands in pickel rhine, I guess. To toughen up their hands so they don't get blisters or something I don't know I still wouldn't piss on my hands.

Gregg Zaun has been back and forth this season. I think he started gloveless, and then started using a glove on his bottom hand (he switch hits). I think at one point he was wearing them on both batting right handed, and only on his right hand when batting left handed.

So, what's the current All-No-Batting-Gloves lineup?

                            C Posada
                            1B ???
                            2B ???
                            3B ???
                            SS ???
                            LF Alou
                            CF ???
                            RF Guererro
                            SP Peavy

                            Infield is looking pretty wussy....

Yes, they pee on their hands. It's something they learned from older players to keep their hands from getting blisters.

That's gotta be a little awkward.
