I tend to find team logos much like team mascots. The truly great organizations don't need change. Most teams with mascots and/or major logo changes either are expansion teams or those with a very poor history when it comes to winning titles. I don't blame minor league teams from changing since much of their target audience is families because of pricepoint and keeping things "trendy" or modern may keep kids' interest.

UBS was a TV network back in the 1970s. I used to watch the Howard Beale Show and The Mao Tse-Tung Hour all the time. Great shows.

The "beaver" in the New Orleans Zephyrs logo is actually a nutria, an animal found in the area.

The Flying Tigers are an affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.

And by the way, that "Atlanta" Braves alternate logo was the shoulder patch on the Milwaukee Braves uniform from 1957 until they moved to Atlanta in 1966.

I'm sorry, but these logos are the ones I came to know and love as a child when I first fell in love with baseball. They are sacred to me, and I won't stand by and have them ridiculed by some young punk at the bleacher report. Now get the hell off my lawn.

That was an entertaining read. My favorite was the Cubs logo, #38. Who are the UBS?

    excellent find!

    LOL great avatar!

This is actually funny and on target, unlike so many "The [number] most [something] in baseball history" articles.

The author left out Number One, though, which has to be the Cleveland Indians 1946-50 logo. I'm not much of a PC guy, but yikes.

My vote for worst is the Tigers logo on page #49.
