  • If you could handpick the world series broadcast team...

Who would you choose and why?

Vin Scully play by play!! With him, wouldn't care who the color person was. Alas, Vinny is probably too advanced in years for all that travel

Will always remember his call on the final play of Game 6, 1986 World Series: "swing and a little roller toward first...BEHIND THE BAG!! IT GETS BY BUCKNER!! HERE COMES KNIGHT AND THE METS WIN IT!!"

I got goosebumps just typing that LOL

Another good call was Gibson's walk-off HR in Game 1 of the 1988 Series. Even though I hated the Dodgers (especially after wht they did to the Mets), Vinny made it exciting.

The world will have lost a gem when Vinny has announced his last game (hopefully, not for awhile).

Looks like your memory is bit foggy. It's "Little roller up along first...BEHIND THE BAG!! IT GETS THROUGH BUCKNER!! HERE COMES KNIGHT AND THE METS WIN IT!!"

no thanks especially for a giants game
          1. The more I learn, the more convinced I am that many players are over-rated due to inflated stats from offensive home parks (and eras)

As a joke, I want to see Howie Rose paired with comedian Jon Lovitz.

The Mets have the best, smartest fans in baseball.

All three of the SNY guys (Cohen, Darling, Hernandez).

This may be the best crew in all of baseball, especially trying to broadcast for a bad team

This site will allow us to play the game using the cards! As long as we have the same cardsets, we can play just as if we were across the table Face to Face!

I agree, I've said it before, they make watching the Mets bearable, and sometimes entertaining, and that's saying a lot.
They call me Mr. Baseball. Not because of my love for the game; because of all the stitches in my head.

                            Vin Scully and Lon Simmons.

Scully for his "Musical Cadence" and Simmons for his "Deep Baritone Delivery".

I would like to see Bob Costas get a serious chance. True he sometimes uses complicated words, but his love of baseball transpires in a way that leave me wanting to hear more. His Mickey Mantle eulogy and his Charlie Rose interviews about it and other subject matters are little gems in their own way...
'' Mr. Rickey, do you want a ball player who's afraid to fight back?'' Jackie Robinson

'' I want a ball player with guts enough NOT to fight back.'' Branch Rickey
