  • Are You Ready For Some Football?!

I like football. Really, I do. But it's not baseball. And I love baseball. Does anyone feel as sad as I do when the season ends and the wait for "pitchers and catchers report" begins?

How do you feel when the baseball season ends?

I always hate when football starts because it's a reminder that baseball is nearing the end. I do get into football more if the Bears are doing well or if theres undefeated teams.

What is this football you speak of?
The Mets have the best, smartest fans in baseball.

        That is my question too.

No but seriously. The postseason is always bittersweet, or whatever, because I love postseason baseball. But it also means the season is nearly over. Then its no baseball till March.

I have a weird "boycott" of football because I feel it gets all the attention, all the hype, but I believe baseball is the better sport. So I dont watch football.

Absolutely, I am less than enthusiastic about football. The only part I enjoy is being sarcastic about the NFL's hype and the teams/players who are the subject of it. I just don't "drink the Kool-Aid" from the NFL.

Catching up on my reading, renting some extra movies, Christmas shopping, Baseball-Fever will get me through again.

This is a coincidence, and the quote was first added to this signature too far back to remember when).

I don't even follow any sports besides baseball anymore. The emotional involvement is too hard on me, and if I'm going to get my heart broken every year, it had better be by a sport I truly love.

I miss it, but as a huge NBA and college BBall fan,I always have something to look forward too. I usually start really getting into the Blues at this point too.

I love the offseason. I guess that after watching 300 or so games a year, I'm pretty much burnt out by the end of the WS. But I'm right back into it once free agency opens up. I follow every rumor during the winter meetings. Love the hot stove - love it! The worst time for me is that span from mid-January (when 90% of trades are completed and FAs are signed) to the start of spring training.

103 days until pitchers and catchers report.

Am I ready for some football? Not really- I watch some, but my interest in football is about 2% compared to baseball.

The NFL just had its trade deadline come and go. Yawn. One lousy trade. Even in a down season, you're likely to see half a dozen moves at MLB's deadline.

Big Ten football, Bears (actually doing okay so far this season ...), but not until the Series is over.

I'm getting into Notre Dame football of late along with the Bears. But I still watch the MLB channel over any football channel. I'm hoping the MLB Network brings back that trivia show they had and it would be nice if they made some more prime 9's.

I'll watch my alma mater play when I can. That's about the extent of my interest in football.
