In honor of today being Tom Seasver's birthday, I'm posting this math lesson commercial from MLB.

Being from Philly, I'm not supposed to be a Mets fan LOL. But I loved Seaver while growing up and he was my favorite pitcher besides Carlton.

When we finished Citi Field, the Mets sent a package to my office. I opened it up and was pleasantly suprised to see a signed & numbered framed photo of Tom Terrific and Mike Piazza in what was the two of them shaking hands after throwing out the ceremonial final pitch at Shea Stadium. It has a great look as everything in the background is B&W, while both Seaver and Piazza are in color with their signatures in blue sharpie and highly visible. It hangs high on my wall and is one of my favorite pieces.

After he says "baseball fever", someone should dub in the words "dot com".

I wonder if a modern version would include sabermetric statistics.

"Hey kids, here's how you can calculate FIP and xFIP, or Fielding Independent Pitching and Expected Fielding Independent Pitching!"
The Mets have the best, smartest fans in baseball.
