  • Where does the time go?

I just realized this is my SEVENTH year with this website. That's the better part of a decade. Holy cow.

Is that a rhetorical question, or do you expect an answer?
They call me Mr. Baseball. Not because of my love for the game; because of all the stitches in my head.

I can relate. There's no way I've been here 7 1/2 years. I was 10 years old at the time!!! The amount of baseball knowledge I've accumulated is unreal :atthepc
Rest in Peace Jose Fernandez (1992-2016)

I've been here over 12 years...I'm just glad they haven't tracked all the hours I've spent logged into this site.

So what was it like in the stone-ages? A lot of activity?

Back then, people posted on bear skins.
The Mets have the best, smartest fans in baseball.

When I first signed up it was still a part of baseball almanac and once it outgrew that it got its own domain and more and more forums (it used to be current events, history, trivia and all the team forums only). The individual team forums have never been a huge hive of activity though it does seem to go in bursts of activity.
Current events was a little a lot more broad than it is now, so you had the traffic from that, between innings etc which made it seem busier. Trivia was also used a lot more than it is now.

Must say though, the users have got much younger since I started posting here...

And for better or worse...no PED debates, no (or limited) traditional stats vs. sabermetrics, etc. A lot has changed in 12 years.
