Celebrating the Ultimate Baseball Look and the Golden Age of the baseball uniform. An unfairly maligned era of baseball uniforms. The only era in the history of the sport where the uniforms actually fit properly. Gone were the days of the baggy, droopy, clown-like look of the overly romanticized era of flannel uniforms and before the era of oversized, ugly, nonsensical button-front jerseys and belted pants of today. An era, perhaps the only era, the only time where baseball players actually looked or at least resembled actual athletes.

Steel City
The Pittsburgh Pirates once had some of the classiest uniforms in baseball, then one year they abandoned the look, for what?

Cardinals
The current St. Louis Cardinals jersey, both home and the road, to me, reek an unbearable amount of pretentiousness, to a level that makes me actively root against a team, I, as a Mariner fan should feel indifferent about. The Cardinals once had outstanding uniforms, and after studying it a bit, I even like their old powder blues. To the relief of those with good taste, we can at least take solace in the fact that the old v-neck pullover jerseys are still up for sale. What a great look.

Angels
Back in the day, during the Rod Carew, Reggie Jackson era, the Angels had one of the best uniforms on the planet. It's about as close to perfection as you can get. Great colors, great stripes, great everything. Quite the contrast compared to the current Angels uniforms which are boring and dominated too much by the color red. Remember when the Angels looked good?

This is about celebrating a great look, remembering what once was and hoping what could be again!
Seems like the History of the Game section would be more appropriate.
Thanks,

Angels
Jamaican born outfielder Devon White had the great fortune wearing one of baseball's greatest uniforms early in his career. Like I said before, it's very close to perfection on the diamond.

Brewers
Robin Yount in the early '80s Brewers v-neck pullover jersey and sansabelt pants, the look of the athlete. Trim, tailored, fitted baseball uniforms, why do they need to be a thing of the past?
