Current Top 10 Right Fielders Poll

This is the sixth installment of the positon polls for currnt players. To vote, simple list the top 10 right fielders that are active in order from best (#1) to least (#10). The results will be tabulated and will be announced on jan 12 @ 9 PM or 2 days after the last ballot was submitted. The points will be alloted based on the player's ranking on each list (1st place gets 10, 2nd gets 9, 3rd gets 8, etc.) Remember, YOU MUST LIST 10!!!!!

Although you may vote for whomever you see fit I strongly urge you to consider offensive as well as defensive preformance. Also, try to rate players in either preformance in the 2005 mlb season or preformance in the last 3-4 years. However, you may can use career performance as a factor.

I'm curious, since Ichiro and Vlad seem to be dominating the top 2 spots, can people give me a reason why they picked on for the top spot, rather than the next? They're very different elite hitters, as one's a slugger who bats #3 I guess, and the other's a leadoff hitter who slaps the ball a lot, gets lots of infield singles.

Other than "eenie-meenie-minie-mo" (or however it's spelled), what made you good folks choose one over the next?

Francoeur? PLEASEEEEEEEEE tell me thats a joke, he's played half a season in the majors... Next season he will struggle, he is way too aggressive, doesnt take pitches and with advanced scouting reports on his weaknesses he will flail away until he makes adjustments

I have Giles over Suzuki because Suzuki is a singles hitter who doesnt walk a great deal... Giles hits around what Suzuki does (average wise) while walking a great deal more, hitting for much more power and driving in more runs...

Sorry just feel Suzuki is overrated myself, he does hit for a good average, but is a single really better than a walk really?

Yes it is.

Plus Ichiro runs the bases better (not just stealing, where he wins as well).

Also, while Ichiro had a down year last year, Giles has been declining over the last 3 consecutive seasons, where he only averaged 19 HR's! Not real good for a "power" hitter. And hey, guess what? Ichiro tied him in HR's last season! So all he has going for him is his walks, as Ichiro also has him beat in defense as well.

Tell me, what has Giles ever led the league in? Nevermind, I'll tell you - walks - once. Even though Giles has been playing fulltime for 9 seasons, he loses out in ink scores considerably (2/48 to 20/65).

Well, that's just my take on it. Giles is still a good player, and I wish the best for him, but I still see Ichiro as being better.

I wonder how many homers Ichiro would hit at Petco?

Ichiro hasn't had a single season within 10 OPS+ points of Giles's career mark, or .100 points of his career slugging.

Giles also holds a .40 lead in career OBP.

Ichiro's remarkable glove mitigates some of that difference, but probably not all.

I'll post my list probably tonight or tomorrow. There's a good amount of quality RFs.
