Matt Cain of the Giants is poised for the ROY. Threw a two hit shutout in his third start in the Bigs. Kid can play.

        Pirates phenom

Zach Duke. Started his MLB career 6-0, and went 8-2 for the abbreviated '05 debut, 1.81 era, and beat HOF sure thing Maddux 3-1 in one of the finest pitching matchups I've ever seen in my life.

Duke hurled 84 innings last year. To be eligible for the RoY a pitcher cannot have pitched more than 50 innings.

You are aware that there is a rookie of the year award for both the NL and AL, correct?

It had better be Cain; the Giants need him to perform.

                          Roy

I am hoping for Matt Cain in the NL and praying that O's outfielder Nick Markakis will make a big enough impact during Spring Training to win a spot and prove that he is ROY material.

What about D'Backs Conor Jackson? I like that guy a lot and saw a lot of him playing in college here at Cal Berkeley. I think he should still be eligible right?
