    No-brainer: the dismantled Florida Marlins.

      Obviously the Marlins, but i would be shocked if Seattle was a contender this year.

          Marlins by a long shot. The Sox are the defending champions, so you can't rule them out. They also made some nice additions. Bonds will keep the Giants in contention as usual. I can't really see Seattle contending, but the Marlins have less of a chance than the Mariners.

            I figured the only vote that didn't say the Marlins would be by a dodger fan voting for the Giants. Elvis, do you SERIOUSLY think the Marlins will be closer than the Giants to the playoffs?

              I voted for Seattle, rather than the Fish. While I don't expect Florida to contend, I would be pleasantly surprised if they finished 4th, rather than a distant 5th in the NL East. No particular reason for this, other than not wanting to see a team hit rock bottom, as expected.

                It's probably wishful thinking on my part, but Seattle has made some good moves this offseason (except for Everett, who I don't think will contribute much....look for him to be traded haflway through the season) I'm likng the new catcher, and Jarrod Washburn has some stuff, if he can get it back.
                "He can get 10 hits in five at-bats." -Joe Torre, exasperated after seeing Ichiro hit a routine ground ball to shortstop and cross first with an infield single.

                  Including the White Sox in this pole is like watching One of these things doesn't belong here on Sesame Street.

                    I'm currently the only one that voted for the White Sox. :-{

                      It has to be the AAA Marlins, though the Giants and Mariners have a shot at this. The Sox have a shot at it if there pitching collapses and the Indians keep getting better.

                        That's the way I feel about it.
                        Johnson and now Goligoski gone.
                        I hope that's all.

                          I've had enough, why are you so critical about me and every post I make that you comment on?
