No strike (or threats thereof)
No corked bats
No players using PEDs or strong hints that they may be doing this
Teams that were considered pushovers (D-Rays (or whatever they'll now be called), Royals, Blue Jays and Mariners at least battling hard to contend, even if they don't)
Players not admiring longballs, but busting it out of the box (would be a pleasant surprise, to say the least)
Runs being manufactured, rather than waiting for someone to hit some bases-clearing double
Fewer ugly fights (especially those involving fans and players)
Squeeze plays being used when the opposing team is least expecting it
A few games ending when a hi-arching Baltimore chop bounces right in front of the home plate bag and doesn't come down before the guy tags home
More infield home runs, rather than just the 450 footers (though some of those do look quite good)
Fewer injuries
Mark McGwire having to buy a ticket before he gets into Cooperstown (yeah, I'm ready to get grilled on this, so don't worry)
Patience at the plate and great strategy being the norm, rather than just heavy hitting and slow, thoughtless running
I'll think of something else later on.Please read Baseball Fever Policy and Forum FAQ before posting. 2007-11 CBA
Rest very peacefully, John “Buck” O'Neil (1911-2006) & Philip Francis “Scooter” Rizzuto (1917-2007)
THE BROOKLYN DODGERS - 1890 thru 1957
Montreal Expos 1969 - 2004

Hmm..
-Barry Bonds not break the record. Honestly, if he isnt doing steroids, I don't think he deserves it due to his lack of respect towards Ruth and Aaron.
-More competitve NL West byfar.
-Cracking down on more of the enhancement users more often, if they continue to do them.
-Atlanta Braves make it past the opening round of the playoffs.
-An underdog win the world series.Texas Ranger Baseball 2008.. :applaud:

Bud Selig's resignation"Too many pitchers, that's all, there are just too many pitchers Ten or twelve on a team. Don't see how any of them get enough work. Four starting pitchers and one relief man ought to be enough. Pitch 'em every three days and you'd find they'd get control and good, strong arms."

Brewers make the playoffs. =pAL East Champions: 1981 1982
AL Pennant: 1982
NL Central Champions: 2011
NL Wild Card: 2008
"It was like coming this close to your dreams and then watching them brush past you like a stranger in a crowd. At the time you don't think much of it; you know, we just don't recognize the significant moments of our lives while they're happening. Back then I thought, 'Well, there'll be other days.' I didn't realize that that was the only day." - Moonlight Graham

I would like to see less fights too (involving players vs. fans)
Hopefully someone in Oakland will try to jump Milton Bradley, and he will knock the snot out of them, and put an end to fans jumping on the field once and for all.
I would like to see no steroids or corked bats
I want to see Homerun hitters lead the league with 45 (not 65 or 70!)
Manufactured runs, squeeze plays, diving catches, guys robbing homers, basestealing and plenty of hustle!
I want to see good pitching rather than good hitting.
Orioles win the AL East!!!
Giants win the NL West!!!
A no-hitter or two (maybe by some guys I really like, like Ben Sheets or Jake Peavy)
A great 7-game World Series that lasts til the final days of October
I would like to see the World Baseball Classic succeed and continue as a tradition for years to come
Man...just talking about all this makes me warm inside. I have already requested Opening Day off as one of my "floating holidays". I am staying home, BBQ'ing and watching all the ball I can that day!"Candlestick made me a man" -Will Clark
"Real Giants fans loved them BEFORE and AFTER Barry Bonds came along"

All teams competing (will never happen, but that would be great).
A couple of years has passed since 2000, so a WS victory for the Yankees would be nice again.
But if that is not possible a Cubs victory would be fine. And if that is not possible, a WS victory for a small market team.
Furthermore: Small market teams getting more attendance and TV contracts.

Small teams that have been lacking attendance, get more sold out games would be nice.
Seeing the Pittsburgh Pirates finish above .500 would be nice as well.
But here's one thing I would like to see: a LOT less ejections from bad umpire calls. Who's to blame here?
Seeing a small market team that goes 0-6 at first, then fire back and finish 92-70.
Those are what I'd like to see this season.

- No injuries related to: Chairs, keyboards, venison, pillow feathers, or line drives hitting pitchers
- Death to "Scooter"
- No more center field camera; I want to see things other than the pitcher, catcher, batter, and umpire before the ball is pitched
- Less brawls involving Kyle Farnsworth
- Cubs make the playoffs
- Incredible defensive play
- Dominant pitching
- A few big name steroid users suspended
- Darrin Baker as Cubs mascot
- Dusty Baker not starting old veterans who should be retired or on the bench
A lot of people say this honor validates my career, but I didn't work hard for validation. I didn't play the game right because I saw a reward at the end of the tunnel. I played it right because that's what you're supposed to do, play it right and with respect. If this validates anything, it's that learning how to bunt and hit and run and turning two is more important than knowing where to find the little red light at the dug out camera. - Ryne Sandberg
