I'm sure Ravenlord will be pleased too, though I don't know if I've seen him post in current events in the relatively short amount of time I've been here. He posts in the Cubs forum quite a bit though...

Only a complete recovery of Carson Palmer would be better news for Cincinnati sports fans. I didn't listen to any of the talk radio programs from there this morning, but I am sure they're ecstatic. nascarfn5 speaks for the Reds fans.

Dude, Milton was garbage the previous year, too. He just had a lot of wins, but outside of that, he wasn't that good. Maybe a number 2 on some teams, but mostly a number 3 or 4 starter in a rotation. I honestly don't know why such a average to medicore player got the contact he got from the Reds last year. Milton gives up like the long ball a lot.

Womack trade was better than ridicoulous signing of Milton the previous year. Jeez, he brought Milton in to be the number 1 starter of their team. Harang and Williams are above him this year. Milton should even be behide Clauseen on the depth chart, but he's not.

Maybe the next GM won't sign medicore level pitchers to the ace of the team?

Yeah...only to see Milton go 8-15 last year. This was right off from a winning season in '04. I don't get baseball at times when an average pitcher becomes a major disappointment the year after
Before this year Milton only had an ERA below 4.50 once. He was never any good, just really overhyped.

EDIT: I forgot one classic signing of his: Tony Womack. Sure he's speedy and fast, but he has trouble hitting the ball at times, making him a backup second baseman.

    New Reds Owner Fires GM

Bob Castellini, new owner of the Reds, fired Dan O'Brien as the Reds GM. I don't know whether O'Brien deserved this or not (he still had one year to go on his contract), but at least Castellini was up front about. In plain English he said he wanted his own guy (i.e. someone he hired).
