  • Who will be the Home Run champ next year? (2006)

I dont think you guys need an explanation for this thread. I am going to say Albert Pujols. He is a fantastic player, and a huge asset to the cardinals. What do you guys think???

    Puljos or Lee.

Actually, next year = this year, so please forgive me and my calendar, so I've added the obvious 2006 in parenthesis.

Anyway, I have it between Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez. Of course, Derrek Lee could surprise us again. I'm also wondering if Andruw Jones will do a repeat of his 2005 season.

EDIT: How the heck did closer Brad Lidge get on there? Is he going to be serving up meatballs to Pujols?

I would say Bonds, but I think he only wants to play 120 games nextyear.

My Pick is probably arod, He's already won Multiple HR crowns, And would of led the majors lastyear if it wasnt for jones power surge.

For the AL I think A-Rod will lead and hopefully hit over 50.

In the NL I cant go against a healthy Bonds, with Pujols a close second.

I see it being the 3rd time ever that the AL and NL have guys with 50+ homeruns

Lee Could of had a fluke season lastyear, like cash in 61, like beltre in 04.

Lee was always a good player, But lastyear he was a great player, maybe the best in baseball.

I like Lee, I hope he can play at his 2005 level for the rest of his career, but that seems unlikely.

Possibly, but I doubt Bonds would even come close if he played a full slate. For reasons I don't want to start a fight over, I'll keep my pie hole shut.

Bonds is more likely to hit more homeruns than Lee if healthy, IMO, putting aside the " steroid scandal " and age.

The dude jacked 5 bombs in 14 games lastyear, after pretty much walking out of the hospital.

Infact, they were all hit in pitchers parks.

I'm not about to get into a debate over Bonds here. I've already been beaten, battered and bruised by the denial ridden Giants fans.
