Which team has the best... in each league going into Spring Training?

    American
Lineup: Yankees -- you intent walk nobody in this lineup
Bench: Blue Jays -- Zaun is the best backup C in the league both in O and D, Hillenbrand, Hinske, and Catalanotto play everywhere else very good
Rotation: White Sox -- All 5 men on rotation could easily be aces on other teams
Bullpen: Angels -- I just like the depth they provide and the addition of Carrasco
Farm System: Indians -- They just keep on coming
Management: White Sox -- sent Rowand and El Duque off for much better players

    National
Lineup: Mets -- Only problem in the lineup is the guy batting 9th and the pitcher (Matsui joke)
Bench: Nationals -- The team is bringing depth to a whole new level
Rotation: Cardinals -- Morris leaves and is replaced from the bullpen by Jason Marquis...no problems there.
Bullpen: Nationals -- Majewski, Ayala, Cordero, Stanton, Eischen, Rodriguez...our starters can feel safe that their win credited performances will not be blown in vain
Farm System: Braves -- See Indians
Management: Dodgers -- making good, clean moves
The Q: Can the Cubs hold a 6-5 lead with 2 outs and nobody on in the 9th?

    The A: No

    ***********My Rant on Bud Selig***********
Selig is like a stray pigeon. Pigeons are too self-absorbed to care about anyone else. They poo on people they don't like; they poo on people they don't even know. The only real difference between Selig and a pigeon is that Selig intends to bury our heritage, our traditions, and our culture,

I'll agree with you on most of those here.

I'll argue for the case of the White Sox bullpen. This is a pen that's one of the best in the game,to go with the starters. You'll have future ace Brandon McCarthy in long relief when he's not spelling Garcia and Vazquez in April and May.Cliff Politte and Neal Cotts are virtually lights out as setup men.You have Bobby Jenks and his 100+ heat to close. And if Jenks can't hold on for some reason,a healthy Dustin Hermansen will be called upon.

No disrespect to the Angels pen by any means, but I'll take the White Sox pen here.

I'll take the Sox bullpen provided Politte, Cotts, and all the others that had the best years of their lives last year can do it again.

Even if they don't have the years that they had last year.It will still be an improvement.

I would agree with you here if they had any pitching whatsoever in the minors.
A lot of people say this honor validates my career, but I didn't work hard for validation. I didn't play the game right because I saw a reward at the end of the tunnel. I played it right because that's what you're supposed to do, play it right and with respect. If this validates anything, it's that learning how to bunt and hit and run and turning two is more important than knowing where to find the little red light at the dug out camera. - Ryne Sandberg

Not to sound biased, I'll take the A's rotation over any team in the AL right now... Although the ChiSox do look good this year...

Looks pretty good. I have a few minor disagreements but nothing worth mentioning. I will take issue with the Management for the NL though. How can you not give it to the team that has won like 14 straight division titles? 14 straight titles....they must be doing something right. Not to mention tha the Dodgers managment has made some questionable moves in the past.

Gotta give it to the Braves.

Well, I have to agree with Kaliber managment-wise. The Dodgers have made some questionable moves in the past years, they signed J.D. Drew after his one good year in Atlanta and the acquisition of Milton Bradley turned out like every other move he's been in. Everything else is A-OK in my eyes.

Not to mention the owner is an egomaniac who thinks that he is much more important then the team.

                      The 2 best rotations in the AL;

                      #1 White Sox
                      #2 A's

This should be fun to watch.

Just a minor thing: Marquis is a starter. He was just in the bullpen in the playoffs because he was the odd man out of the rotation. I just wanted to make clear that the Cards aren't just pulling someone out of the bullpen to start. They do have a good rotation.

You have some quality members on that team, but some bad ones, too. Overall your pen ERA was higher than that of DC's.
