  • Ryan Braun retires

A very good ballplayer. It's a shame he tailed off so much, relative to his earlier performance, at the end.

One of my favorite players. I always thought his swing and follow-through were the most beautiful of any right-handed hitter. It was cool to see a relatively skinny guy generate such power with that long swing. He was a fun hitter to watch.

Before announcing his retirement Braun was tied with Mike Trout for as the active leader in games with both a home run and a stolen base. He was a really good all-around player.
    My top 10 players:

    1. Babe Ruth
    2. Barry Bonds
    3. Ty Cobb
    4. Ted Williams
    5. Willie Mays
    6. Alex Rodriguez
    7. Hank Aaron
    8. Honus Wagner
    9. Lou Gehrig
    10. Mickey Mantle

Will he be remembered mostly for the controversy involving the urine sample?

Yeah, that pretty much killed his already-meh (with the really poor back half) Hall chances.
They don’t think it be like it is, but it do.
