Best of luck, Boonie, and no matter what, enjoy yourself.

"He can get 10 hits in five at-bats." -Joe Torre, exasperated after seeing Ichiro hit a routine ground ball to shortstop and cross first with an infield single.

With his brother and father as part of the Nationals, the move does make sense. It also makes sense because it is a low risk, high reward type of risk. The thing is, with Ronnie Beliiard & Felipe Lopez already contending for at bats at 2B, he has to be considered a long shot. Still, it will be fun to see if he could possibly find that power stroke he once had in Seattle.

I think he should forget playing on the field, and come back as an announcer on Fox. I remember when he was in the booth during the AL playoffs a few years ago, and he would disappear for innings at a time, and then make a sudden reentry and mock Tim McCarver. Classic.

"Hanging out with him sucks because all the women flock to him. Let's see, he's been on the cover of GQ, is rich and famous, hits for average and power and is a helluva nice guy." - Tim Raines on Derek Jeter
