Those headlines make sense with all the early news coming out of Florida.

Never get the ST Rockies score before 5:30pm to often.

They're just giving their audience what they want. NY and Boston fans, by and large, are more neurotic about their teams than fans in other parts of the country.

Cubbie Nation? Cardinals fans? Crazy Dodgers fans? I know it's hard for some guys on the East Coast to understand this, but there really is East Coast bias. It exists.

Looks like you can include the Mets in there as well.

Yeah, we can save that for the, BBWAA and manager/coaches, for the awards.

I think it matters. Did you see the homer campaign that ESPN ran for Jimmy Rollins during the last month of the season last year? That was absurd. If Matt Holliday was a Met he'd have won the MVP, no contest.

Wait, those creatures exist? All I see in my area are fair-weather Hated Dodger fans.

Yeah, there's a bias. Can us westerners do anything about it? Not really. Unless we create a sports network that doesn't know where New York or Boston are!

I have no idea how C.C. won the Cy Young over Beckett. No idea. But I'm happy. :gt

Still frying eggs on my bald noggin over that one. I honestly believe that if the Mets had held onto the division lead that Holliday would still have lost the MVP to David Wright, which I could accept a lot more the Holliday losing to a little guy that won the biggest award with even a bigger mouth.

I just hope that Rollins is dusting Tulo's GG award and Hollidays MVP award, everyday.

I wish that the writers would stick to a criteria where each and every team had a qualifier for the MVP award and part of the criteria IMO shouldn't be for the players team to make the playoffs for players like Hanley Ramirez.

MVP= Player who is most valuble to his team in the AL or NL.

Umm.. The Mats had a legit MVP candidate last year - and he didn't win.

David Wright and Matt Holliday were my #1 and #2. Rollins stole one, but it wasn't because he was the only viable candidate who plays for a Northeastern team.

And your honest opinion, if not for the Mets collaspe?

Personally, I would have voted for Wright, even with the collapse. He was absolutely awesome down the stretch, despite his team's overall futility.

                              August: .394/.516/.657
                              September: .352/.432/.602

                              Holliday was phenomenal too.

                              August: .330/.403/.530
                              September: .367/.448/.796 :gt

You can say that Holliday's September clinched for you, that's fine. I'm not saying Wright had a, per se, better stretch run than Holliday. I'm just using those numbers as evidence to not hold the Mets' collapse against Wright, as it clearly had nothing to do with him.

I think Wright is the overall better player, by a slight margin, and had a slightly better overall season.

                              I would have voted:

                              1. Wright
                              2. Holliday
                              3. Hanley Ramirez
                              4. Chase Utley
                              5. Prince Fielder

                              after that it's kind of a mumbo-jumbo.
