  • Braves Problems

So ya the season is in full swing now and the Braves have some concerns. Lets start off with the Braves pitching staff. Smoltz is 3-0 however he was struggling tonight. He had a lot of pain don't know how many innings he's going to be able to give us. Glavine didn't record an out his last outing and he's suppose to pitch Saturday. I have my fingers crossed. The AJC said him and Hampton-waste of money...pitched a bullpen session Tuesday with no pain. Don't even get me started on Hampton. So now were through 4 of 5 of the starters of opening day. Then we have Jair Jurrgens who I think is going to be an amazing pitcher for us. His stats this year is he's 1 and 2 with a 3.93 ERA which isn't to bad. If I'm mistaking the bullpen is who gave up his wins. So 1 out of 5 of the starters we can depend on to stay healthy. Tomorrow night Jeff Bennett a long reliever has been put to test a lot this season and is getting his chance in Hampton's rotation spot to start a game.

Then we have the Bullpen. Soriano is hurt, Moylan might be gone for the season won't find out for 2 weeks might have to have tommy john surgery. Mike Gonzalez won't be back until mid-june and who knows what he's going to have to offer the braves. Pitching staff isn't looking to good like it did in spring training to me..

    Now hitting...

Wow our bats are alive one game and not the next. Tex is only hitting .203 in cleanup position. Everybody else though is hitting pretty good. Kotsay is really impressing me. Got to give it to our new GM Wren on the Renteria trade. Got the young starter we need and is giving yunel his time to shine. He is really doing a great job at Short.

What does everybody think about the Braves? Is it going to be a long year or will the injuries take care of themselfs and the Braves will be back on top of the NL EAST like they should be.

You probably should have put this in the Braves forum. That's all I'm saying because this is one subject I do not wish to discuss at length.

Don't even get me started on Hampton

Hey, the Rockies absorbed 81mil of the 121mil contract in the 3 team trade. The Hampton and Neagle contracts killed the Rockies for years and 2007 was the first year I even got to enjoy a decent pitching staff.

Well, that's no problem. Welcome to Baseball Fever. Sorry for the sour note; I've just gotten frustrated with all this doom and gloom and we're not even into May.

As long as the Braves have Chipper Jones they'll be OK.

Four homers in two games, hell yes.

Just more small reasons that the man is a Hall of Famer.
