  • Hitters that are not valid trust

IMO, hitters who have poor effect this season are:

    1B
    Jason Giambi 0.109 AVG
    Prince Fielder 0.215 1HR!
    2B
    Placido Polanco 0.148 0HR!
    Robinson Cano 0.169
    3B
    Mike Lowell 0.200 0HR
    Ryan Zimmerman 0.226
    OF
    Jacque Jones 0.178
    Juan Pierre
    Alfonso Soriano 0.175
    Andruw Jones
    Hunter Pence
    Garry Sheffield

    ....
    What do you think about?

Hey now, the Mighty "Juan" Pierre is hitting .256 with only 43 AB's at the end of yesterday.

I think that the players you listed will finish closer to their career averages then the 20 game averages they have at this point.

Ok, it's true. They are underrated now, of course but they still have 'bomb' in their hands.

Carlos Delgado is absolutely terrible thus far:
        .208 batting avg with 1 hr and 8 rbi's.

Even Barry Bonds had slow starts.
By April 23, 2001, Bonds was batting .220
By May 6, 1991, Bonds was batting .156

Frank Thomas was batting .200 (0 HRs) on April 25, 1993. He then went on to win the AL MVP.

George Brett was batting .209 on April 22, 1980. He then went on to bat .390

Amazing how vets are contract driven
Manny had an off year but watch out this year he is looking at 40 plus 120 plus and a 320 plus year

Also, many of the hitters you listed play in cold weather cities. The ball doesn't carry as far in the cold, so that may partially explain it. As for young guys like Pence and Fielder, pitchers may be starting to adapt to them, requiring them to make adjustments

Didn't think so. I'll see you again tomorrow night around the top of the ninth."

So, a typical Manny year for him then.

It's still April. Nothing really to be concerned with. Lots of baseball to be played.

Tulo was slow out of the blocks last year also.

Mike Lowell only has 30 AB's so far this year due to being on the 15 day DL.
