  • Felix Hernandez vs Tim Lincecum

    Who has better stuff?

    IMO it goes like this

    Felix has the better 2-seamer
    Felix has the better Curve
    Felix has the better slider

    Lincecum has better velocity
    Lincecum has the better change
    Lincecum has better deception

pretty damn close if you ask me.

on what? King Felix fastball goes high 90s. I remember a couple starts ago he hit 100 MPH...

I would take King Felix stuff over Lincecum.

My sophomore year I placed 2nd, and my junior and senior year - I got smart and piled up enough points between myself and second place where I didn't have to run the mile.

Given the choice I take Lincecum, but not by a whole lot.

Bavasi thought Lincecum, a former Washington Husky was too small. He chose Brandon Morrow over Lincecum in the draft. Just imagine Hernandez and Lincecum in the same rotation.

I'd take Lincecum. Even if King Felix's stuff is better, Lincecum's putting up better numbers and winning more games.

I had the pleasure of watching Lincecum pitch while he was in college. In his last season at the University of Washington, he posted a 12-4 record, a 1.91 earned run average, and 199 strikeouts in 125 innings.

All that aside, I would definetly take Lincecum over Hernandez. Felix Hernandez has been this touted prospect for about three years now, and he has yet to live up to his hype. The person that said that Hernandez clocked 100, Lincecum's two-seam fastball has been clocked near there as well. Lincecum has a tight power curve that can make hitters look silly, and his changeup has improved greatly since last season. His delivery is odd, and it decives hitters. What makes his numbers even better though, is the fact that he pitches for one of the worst teams in the Majors, no offense to Giants fans out there.

This season, Tim Lincecum has started 12 games. he has an 8-1 record, a 2.15 earned run average, and 83 strikeouts in as many innings.

Felix Hernandez has started 15 games. He has a 6-5 record, a 2.87 earned run average, and 91 strikeouts in a little over 103 innings.

I like Lincecum, and that's who I would take and build my team around.
              5,008 innings pitched, 13th all-time, most active
              355 wins, 8th all-time, most active
              3.16 lifetime ERA
              3,371 strikeouts, 10th all-time
              109 complete games, most active
              18 Gold Gloves, most all-time
First to win four consecutive Cy Young Awards

After careful consideration, I will go with Hernandez on this one.

If it wasn't for another Bavasi error, they would both be in the Seattle rotation. Hernandez is starting to dominate. The other night against Florida, he struck out the side on 9 pitches.

I'd take Lincecum over Hernandez any day

Today, I'd take Lincecum, but 5 years from now I'm guessing that I'd rather have Hernandez. As far as "stuff" goes, King Felix has the better of it, he just needs to command and use it better.

Would he be winning more games with Seattle's O backing him up?
Swing and a drive! This one is deep! This one is... over the fence and into the neighbor's yard!

                            Bavasi should predicted the future?

Last I check, Morrow not a bust.

I'm not going to list all the awful trades and free agent signings under Bavasi. He was the worst GM in baseball. He will never hold that title again. Morrow was drafted as a starter from Cal. Is he in the Mariners rotation? No he isn't. If Bavasi predicted the future just 25 percent of time opposed to 2 he would still be employed. If you would rather have an 8th inning guy than an ace TOTR starter, that's your prerogative. Even if Morrow permanently replaces Putz as closer, Lincecum was the choice to make.
