  • Who Is Washed Up?

Among these players off to slow starts, who do you think will bounce back?
Gary Sheffield, CC Sabathia, Andrew Jones, Ryan Howard, Carlos Delgado, Travis Hafner, David Ortiz, Roy Oswalt. Keep in mind that many players, like Pujols, D Wright, Manny, and Howard started off even worse last season and ended up in MVP discussions.

Delagado's bat is so slow now, he's actually hitting some balls to the left side (on those rare occasions when he's caught a piece of a change). He's unable to turn on a fastball. It's painful to watch.
The only thing worse than his offense this year is his defense. It's all over for Carlos.

In a year or two, Zito may have to be added to that list.

what about Robinson Cano? I know he's young, but his stats are ugly, even if he was a pitcher.

Andruw Jones is on pace for 22 RBIs in 519 ABs.

I really think Zito should be on the list.

I voted for Delgado. Sheffield is only hitting .179 right now but his OBP is .333.

which is higher than his slugging percentage :-o. He also only has 5 RBI in a stacked lineup. Yikes!

I wouldn't think he's washed up, either, although I think he's being incredibly stubborn in his batting style. He just wants to pull everything.

IMO Gary Sheffield, Carlos Delgado, and Andruw Jones are the most likely to rebound and have a good season.
