Not trying to be a homer, but I think Pujols will end up winning the AVG, title. Of all the guys up there now, he is the most consistant and likely performer. Of course Chipper may keep the lead, when he is DL's for 30 games, but keeps just enough PA's to claim the title.

Brandon Webb is a good bet here. He is the best pitcher in the NL and is surounded by a good team that will produce for him.

The league leader in saves will be which ever closer plays with the team that gets him the most save opportunities.

My bets would be Webb, Wang, Jones and Taveras being there in the end.

Aaron Harang will be around in strikeouts, quality starts and innings pitched. I very curious how Edinson Volquez does this year. Ryan Howard will break his record for strikeouts in a season.
Unlike most other team sports, in which teams usually have an equivalent number of players on the field at any given time, in baseball the hitting team is at a numerical disadvantage, with a maximum of 5 players and 2 base coaches on the field at any time, compared to the fielding team's 9 players. For this reason, leaving the dugout to join a fight is generally considered acceptable in that it results in numerical equivalence on the field, and a fairer fight.

Harang led the NL in Strikeouts and co-led in Wins in 2006, and remember its just April, remember Chris Shelton for Detroit in April 2006??

Unless he gets injured like usuall and somebody else passes him up. But you are right, baring injurym he should be a safe bet to win in that category.

He could get injured and out for the season tomorrow and still end up being #1 in CG at the end of the year.

That is very possible, but not certain.

Halladay led the AL in Complete Games in 2005, despite not pitching after July after being hit by a line drive on the leg.

I know. He is an absolute horse (when healthy). He probably will lead the league in CG-possibly if he did get injured now and for the rest of the seasons, but it isn't a foregone conclusion as the one poster made it sound. That is all I am saying. Personally, I hope the guys stays healthy every year and beats out the Wangs, Becketts, and Sabathias of the AL for Cy Youngs.

Chipper is really having a big season. Im dont think he'll stay above 400 come september but he's maintaining his AVG very well.
Could be a .380+ season by the end IMO, which in modern baseball is as rare as .400 was pre 1930's.
