No one on that list."I'm happy for [Edwin Encarnacion] because this guy bleeds internally, big-time" -Dusty Baker
"If on-base percentage is so important, then why don't they put it on the scoreboard?" -Jeff Francoeur

They're not ideal choices, but Webb or Pujols would be really good. Most of the people you listed are really old by baseball standards. You don't start a franchise around someone who's going to retire in the next few years.

I'd say for a pitcher, Tim Lincecum and for a hitter, either David Wright or Hanley Ramirez.Originally posted by Cougar"Read at your own risk. How are Ichiro, Dice-K, and Chipper on this list? Ichrio is past his prime, Jones is 38 and constantly injured, and Dice-K isn't a franchise player."I'm happy for [Edwin Encarnacion] because this guy bleeds internally, big-time" -Dusty Baker

This doesn't have to be someone in their early 20s, but guys in their 30s can't be expected to hang on for 5-6 more years. You want someone who's already established, but won't be on the aging downslope until the end of the run. I'd also prefer not to go with a position low in the defensive spectrum or a pitcher, if possible. Here's a non-scientific list:
David Wright
Grady Sizemore (only 25 still)
Jose Reyes (and I'm giving him zero credit for the "excitement" factor)
Other fun options:
BJ Upton
Justin Upton
Alex Gordon
Jay Bruce

How about just voting on the options presented? Everyone has the capability of starting their own poll but you don't have to do it in someone else's . We see so many (too many) best of polls, there's nothing wrong with other spins to that premise.Dave Bill Tom George Mark Bob Ernie Soupy Dick Alex Sparky
Joe Gary MCA Emanuel Sonny Dave Earl Stan
Jonathan Neil Roger Anthony Ray Thomas Art Don
Gates Philip John Warrior Rik Casey Tony Horace
Robin Bill Ernie JEDI

Exactly. The question was "Which of the following..." not "Out of all of MLB...".
And you could say something like "Out of the options given, I'd pick X, but if everyone was available, I'd pick Y"
