Wilkernator's daily: Can baseball still be considered a pure talent sport

I always thought that baseball was a game more of strategy than pure talent. Perhaps track and field may be more suited to those with pure talent.
I consider it a sport that requires talent, but also often requires some athletic ability (with some exception for pitchers), but strength would be required for most sluggers.
Talent can help you in hitting a ball or pitching a ball, but it won't tell you how to swing, where to swing, where to pitch the ball, or which ball to follow that one up with. I'd say that strategy would rule in that case.
