  • Can't wait for Opening Day...

It's a national holiday as far as I'm concerned. One more week...
Which teams are playing on the ESPN game next Sunday night that starts the season, by the way?

I wish I lived closer to a major league park. I've never seen a major league game live...only on TV. The closest I've got is a single A game (Watertown Pirates).

I'm trying to convince my wife to go see one with me!

The official baseball season doesn't start til Aaron Harang throws the first pitch at GABP.

BRING OPENING DAY TO ITS HOME IN CINCINNATI.
Unlike most other team sports, in which teams usually have an equivalent number of players on the field at any given time, in baseball the hitting team is at a numerical disadvantage, with a maximum of 5 players and 2 base coaches on the field at any time, compared to the fielding team's 9 players. For this reason, leaving the dugout to join a fight is generally considered acceptable in that it results in numerical equivalence on the field, and a fairer fight.

And Juan Pierre quickly bunts that pitch for a single.

I'll be at the game on friday for the cubs home opener. of course, i will be at about 50 more games throughout the season, but thats neither here nor there.

(its also nice that i live exactly two miles from wrigley)

                              ballgames

I have tickets already to 4 games here in the Bay Area, and will probably go to 1 or 2 more by the time the season is done.

I am fortunate enough to live in the California Bay Area, just 30 minutes from the A's and about 40 minutes from the Giants.

I will be at the Yanks/A's game on Tuesday night. Then I have 2 other A's tix for later in the year against the Dodgers (on Father's Day) and against the Angels (a Fireworks game). I am also going to see the Giants vs. Reds in August. I see myself walking up to buy some more tickets on nights when I have nothing to do, maybe see the Orioles when they come to town, or the A's play someone I can root against like Tampa Bay or Toronto.

It's nice living in the Bay Area, you have the A's, the Giants and the California Golden Bears College ballteam.
