  • 2006 Prediction

Okay the unknown is known for the most part, who is going to play and where is known. Who is healthy and who isn't is known. The race is about to start so lets all step up to the line and throw down our predictions.

This being April today I prepared my taxes, wrote out a will, and then penciled in Braves and Yanks for their division. A few other things in life are more certain then Death, Taxes, and Yanks/Braves.

    NL WEST: Los Angeles
    NL CENT: St. Louis
    NL EAST: Atlanta
    WILD CD: Philadelphia

    AL WEST: Oakland
    AL CENT: Minnesota
    AL EAST: New York
    WILD CD: Cleveland

    Atlanta over LA
    STL over Philadelphia
    STL over ATL

    Cleveland over Oakland
    Minnesota over NY
    Minnesota over Clevelan

    St. Louis over Minnesota

AL East: Toronto (Overbay gets lead in all Time Doubles this year)
        AL Central: White Sox
AL West: Athletics (Frank Thomas 45 Home Runs)
        AL Wild Card: Indians

        NL East: Mets
        NL Central: Cardinals
        NL West: Dodgers
        NL Wild Card: Brewers
        AL East Champions: 1981 1982
        AL Pennant: 1982
        NL Central Champions: 2011
        NL Wild Card: 2008

"It was like coming this close to your dreams and then watching them brush past you like a stranger in a crowd. At the time you don't think much of it; you know, we just don't recognize the significant moments of our lives while they're happening. Back then I thought, 'Well, there'll be other days.' I didn't realize that that was the only day." - Moonlight Graham

          NL:

East: Atlanta (I want to say the Mets, but I've learned by lesson a long time ago)

Central: Cards (after that I don't like any of the other teams. If the Cubs have health problems from Wood and Prior all year, and Clemens doesn't come back for Houston, I think the Brewers will contend for the Wild Card)

West: Dodgers (Again, don't like anybody in this division, a healthy Bonds gives the Giants as good a shot as anybody)

Wild Card: We'll go with the Mets here

          AL:

East: Yankees (I think they'll win the division pretty easily. I also think the Toronto experiment will fail miserably, I wouldn't be surprised if the D-Rays won more games than the Blue Jays, even with these additions.)

          Central: Cleveland

West: I want to say Oakland, I'm not really impressed with LA.

Wild Card: Chicago (They just have too much pitching to not win the needed 86 or so games.
THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT COME WITH A SCORECARD

In the avy: AZ - Doe or Die

Apparently the Braves are not as certian as death and taxes.

            Actual finish:
            NYY
            Min
            OAK
            DET

            NYM
            STL
            LA
            SD

I got LA and STL right didn't see the Mets coming and just missed out on the Phillies getting the Wild Card. Over in the AL I got OAK, MIM and NY right but didn't see Detroit coming at all. NOt bad I say, I got 5 of the 6 division winners right.
