i love the uncanny ability of the camera guy to pan into the dugout and catch someone picking their nose.

I like...
watching 'Sweet Lou' tossin a bag into the outfield;
The 'Big Unit' snarling at Kenny Lofton, "It was a f***ing Curveball." (as the ball flys over Lofton's head.
Opening day...
Wrigley Field with the wind blowin' out...
Wrigley Field with the wind blowin' in...
Barry Bonds swinging and missin'...
The smell of grilled onions at the ballpark...
Watchin' "Little O" playin' short...
Jim Thome hitting a homerun...

- Nancy Faust playing "Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye" after a White Sox winner.
- The smell of hot dogs when you get within a hundered feet of the park.
- The general atmospher as you get near the ballpark on a sun-drenched afternoon.
- The thrill of playing hooky from work to go to a game.
- Hitting the cutoff man and cutting down the man trying to score from 1st.
- An unparalelled history.Where legends from the past are forever connected to the present and the future.
- The anticipation of the unknown.
- Seeing your favorite team's Championship Banner being unfurled on Opening Day.

the bunting and streamers on opening day.
keeping my eyes on both the runner and the fielders on a try for three.
youngsters coming up through the ranks.
the clamoring as kids get autographs.
infielders, despite having done it perhaps hundreds of thousands of times before, doing button drills.
all of the non-verbal communication that goes on."you don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. just get people to stop reading them." -ray bradbury

"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."

Just a note to all the active members of BBF, I consider all of you the smartest baseball people I have ever communicated with and love everyday I am on here. Thank you all!

Thought I'd bump this one
More things I love about baseball:
Being part of the crowd, one of 35,000 people all thinking one thought, all begging for the same twist of fate, all screaming with one voice...
Listening to people talking baseball -- in the ballpark, at the gas station, at the post office, in restaurants...
The sound of kids begging for foul balls -- like a nestful of baby birds begging for food...
Baseball Fever, of course....Last edited by VTSoxFan; 04-17-2006, 05:43 PM.--Annie
