Hey there, I really like reading all this stuff, it's like a scrolling headline to scan all the way down, and get all the highlights. Thanks for doing all this for us. :gt

Better coverage than the local papers

Wahoo! The season is already very interesting, for me at least, and it makes me wonder how I survived yet another off season.

Happy Birthday to Bly; likely the best pitcher not yet in the HOF.

Congrats to "The Kid". I know the people in Cincy were disappointed in him for awhile due to his injuries, but I hope he can put in a few more healthy seasons. I think he is one of the best players in this era period.

i was there the night schmidt passed mantle - it was my first game at the vet and only one for years - buddy bell hit a grand slam and mike scott started - i remember the fans in philly couldn't seem to catch foul balls - they carted like 3 woman away in the stands that got beaned - oh yeah we got a speeding ticket heading home to baltimore - also didn't know where to park up there without having to pay - had a long walk that ended at a 10-foot fence - we had to climb it to get to the parking lot

Griffey is now probably number three on the all-time list of standing at the plate and watching his home runs fly over the fence. Maybe he'll catch Reggie this season.

lol, interesting. You have a list made up already?

You're not gonna find too many before '70, if any.

Canseco's gotta be up there. Bonds, Griff, Reggie, Bichette (loved him dropping the bat like he just got electricuted), Manny, Delgado, on and on.

side note; friekin' Jose Guillen man. He just leaned out over the plate against Pedro and barely got nicked on the elbow, and he pretty much charged the mound. It's THAT sensitive BS that needs to go. Makes me sick.

My guess is that the top three all-time are : Barry Bonds, Reggie Jackson and Ken Griffey Jr.

I would love to see a guy like Griffey (or Bonds or David Ortiz or Albert Pujols etc.) get drilled in the ass on his next AB after standing at the plate admiring a HR that he just hit.

If you hit HRs the way Griffey does, you would probably admire them too
The man works hard on his hitting, why shouldn't he be allowed to watch his own HRs? It's not like he gets into a pitch and then makes a flamboyant move or anything.
