Sosa and Palmeiro
I signed with the Milwaukee Braves for three-thousand dollars. That bothered my dad at the time because he didn't have that kind of dough. But he eventually scraped it up.~Bob Uecker

I'm guessing all three are waiting to see if someone offers them big bucks for a mid or late season push. My gut feeling is that Clemens will come back with either the Red Sox, Rangers, or maybe the Astros (if they are in first place or the wild card hunt)...and that Palmeiro and Sosa will never play again.

IF Clemens pitches again, it'll most likely be only this year, and for part of the year, not another year or two.
I'd say Houston has the best shot of getting him back, because of his sweet deal there. I'd say Boston is #2, since he could finish where he started and get the Red Sox all time win record. I really can't see him in either Arlington or New York. He's never been a Ranger, and he has nothing to prove in NY.Visit my card site at Mike D's Baseball Card Page.

Do these players have to make an official announcement or do something to be officially retired or can it pretty much be forced on them by no one offering them a contract? I am just unclear about the whole thing. I guess this would apply to Henderson as well, because I am not sure he has ever officially retired.I signed with the Milwaukee Braves for three-thousand dollars. I hope that's all.

Originally posted by ChisoxNothing to do with the article, but isn't he tied with Cy Young with 192 for th e franchise lead? (I always thought he was, anyway.) If that's the case, wouldn't it be for the sole lead?
Interestly enough, their losses are very close, too...Clemens has 111, Young 112.Visit my card site at Mike D's Baseball Card Page.
