My top 5 for 300 wins right now:

    Glavine: 71 through 26; -15 from Buehrle
    Mussina: 90 through 27; +7 from Oswalt
    Maddux: 115 through 27; +18 from Mulder
    Johnson: 68 through 29; -38 from Hudson

I didn't realize that that was the only day." - Moonlight Graham

Just dont think Willis will win more than 12-14 games a season once he turns about 26 or 27, once they figure out the delivery they will hammer him

Buehrle could if he pitches long enough and stays healthy... neither of which I think will happen

Oswalt will retire before he wins 300

Mulder has only won 97 and is 27... that means he must win 20 a season up to age 37... he has had injury problems in the past

106 at 29, must win 20 a season to reach 300 by age 39... just dont see it happening

If anyone has a chance to win 300 games I'd have to go with the very young guys, such as Scott Kazmir and Felix Hernandez... both are very young (Kazmir is 2 years younger than Willis, Felix Hernandez just turned 20 a week ago) and have electric stuff, both on up-and-coming teams

Mulder and Hudson are already looking like they are beginning an early decline. They are still good enough to win a lot of games on high scoring teams, but unless they get back to the way they pitched 3 years ago, neither will be around to win 250, much less 300.

I agree with the notion that Willis will be hit hard once hitters are more used to his delivery (Hideo Nomo). No 300 for him.

I fully believe Oswalt when he claims he won't stick around long enough. No 300 for him.

      Buehrle? Probably not.

I actually like Santana to do it. He got a later start then the others, but he is so dominating. When he jumps ship from Twinkieland, he will undoubtably get paid in a place with a good offense, solidifying his chances.

I honestly think Glavine might be the last to do it, however. At least for a lomg, long time.

Remember we're talking about wins so it has to be a good team for example Walter Johnson set a record for most 1-0 losses by any SP. My picks are Jonathan Papelbon (Boston), Barry Zito ( A's) and thats it

What if Papelbon is converted to a full time closer?

next year Hansen will be the closer and Paps will be in the Sox rotation. I think this year until Foulke get his act together, Papa will close.

I totally agree with this... I honestly don't see anyone winning 300 again...

Kazmir, unless he gets away from TB, in that tough division and works on his control, will be lucky to get 200 wins....

Santana is awesome but at this point, would have to average about 17 wins till he's 40 to get to 300... Not impossible, but unlikely..

I just think the times have changed too much and the bullpen is used too much now for guys of this era to reach that number...

I wouldnt go as far to say that Glavine might be the last to win 300... I could see in 20 or 30 years starting pitchers only going 3 or 4 innings, then going to a certain pitcher after that if they are winning... thus giving that pitcher many wins

I'll throw Harden and maybe Webb in the group.
