The Chicago Whitesox have a decent one.

    1. John Danks
    2. Gavin Floyd
    3. Jake Peavy
    4. Phil Humber
    5. Chris Sale
"(Shoeless Joe Jackson's fall from grace is one of the real tragedies of baseball. I always thought he was more sinned against than sinning." -- Connie Mack

"I have the ultimate respect for Whitesox fans. They were as miserable as the Cubs and Redsox fans ever were but always had the good decency to keep it to themselves. And when they finally won the World Series, they celebrated without annoying every other fan in the country."--Jim Caple, ESPN (Jan. 12, 2011)

Sure, they did some "addition by subtraction" in dumping AJ Burnett, but it's really a bunch of question marks after CC. What will they get from Hughes? Can Freddy Garcia exceed expectations again? Is Nova's low ERA sustainable despite his weak peripherals? Pineda looks like he may be a stud, but he is unproven. A 3.74 ERA for Seattle translates to what for New York, 4.25?

I thought huges was going to be moved to the pen like the Rays are planning on moving wade to the pen. Pineda i have doubts about he is a rookie who you got from the Seattle he never really has had hard expectations on him and he will be thrown into a very very competitive AL East and will be pitching in the bronx no less. Nova and helly i think may go a little down this year IMHO.

I'm not real optimistic about the White Sox staff: when John Danks is your ace, you've got some problems. Danks and Floyd, though occasionally brilliant, are hot and cold, Peavy is damaged goods at this point, nobody knows how or if he'll respond to his recent spate of injuries, Humber is promising, as is Sale, but Sale will be starting for the first time in the Majors, if in fact he does start. Who is the White Sox closer if it isn't Sale? And what didn't they like about Santos in the closer's role? I know he saved 30 games, but how many save opportunites did he blow? I don't find that stat at BB Ref.

I think that the yanks do have a solid rotation.

                  1.CC
                  2.pineda
                  3.nova
                  4.hughes
                  5.garcia or whoever

this is not bad rotation on top of that great offense and bullpen.

the rays of course have a monster rotation and the angels are very good too. I think they have the best rotations.

                  I would say:

                  1.Rays
                  2.angels
                  3.Yankees
                  4.maybe white sox
                  5.red sox

Considering the signing was almost an after thought, it isn't surprising. It was, " Holy crap!!!! Yankees trade Montero for Pineda!!!! Oh BTW, Yankees also signed Kuroda. Woohoo....."

                              It's called Baseball-Reference.com.

And yes, that's a career 3.45 ERA and 114 ERA+ in 700 big league innings. 3.07 and 121 in 2011. He was a good pickup for New York, I'm afraid to say. I think the Yankees have the makings of potentially a top 5 rotation, IF everyone pitches to their capabilities. There are a lot of question marks in that IF, however.
