Any team "could" go to the world series. The question is "will" they?

I do think Boston will bounce back and win the division this year, but the Rays have a good chance at the wild card. Once they get into the postseason, it's a crapshoot and they'd have as good a chance as anyone.
    My top 10 players:

    1. Babe Ruth
    2. Barry Bonds
    3. Ty Cobb
    4. Ted Williams
    5. Willie Mays
    6. Alex Rodriguez
    7. Hank Aaron
    8. Honus Wagner
    9. Lou Gehrig
    10. Mickey Mantle

They do have a good team. but so have boston and NY. they could be first but they could just as well easily miss the playoffs despite a good season. It will be a tough battle and if they make the post season everything is possible.

but making it will be very hard and they are certain not the front runner to make one of the two spots. but then again they weren't in the last two years...

We have come to enjoy being the underdog.

            Why not?

They have the top of the rotation to do it with James Shields and David Price, not to mention young Matt Moore. They have enough power with the addition of Pena.

No, this is the Tiger's year. Best pitching staff in baseball. Best power hitters in baseball.

No reason the Rays cant. Arguably the best pitching staff in baseball.....arguably the best defense in baseball, and a good offense with Longoria, Zobrist, Jennings, Joyce, Pena and Upton.

To the really knowledgable fan and journalist, this team is not an underdog anymore. They are a top 5 team in baseball, and you can argue the best if you want. A low payroll doesnt really equal being an underdog if you have talent coming out of your ears the way that Tampa does at the moment.

There are about 7-8 teams in each league that with enough healthy and luck have a realistic shot of making the playoffs. And once those playoffs start, anybody can win. Of course the Rays can win the World Series.

Tiger fans said the same thing in 2008 after they got Dontrelle Willis and Miggy.
Using a stolen chant from Boston Celtics fans whenever an L.A. team is playing up there just reeks of inferiority complex.

If hitting a baseball is the toughest thing to do in sports, then pitching must be the easiest thing to do in sports.
