  • your top5 favorites to win the 2012 WS

I think 2012 will be an interesting season. A lot of teams really improved Of course a WS is always a little bit of a crapshoot (see 2010 and 2011 but I think there are some tendencies although it remains a lot of speculation.

    My top5 favorites:

1.yankees-great hitting and best bullpen in baseball, rotation is improved also (still not great but solid)
2.Phillies: yes they did not play well the last post seasons and their hitting is aging but the rotation is still great. I don't think they are as good as the yanks though
3.tigers: verlander+cabrera+fielder. Nuff said? they are a little top heavy though. their top guys are as good as it gets but the back of their rotation and bottom of the lineup is not the best. still very dangerous team.
4.red sox. shaky to bad rotation but similar hitting to yankees. Still hard to judge. they are a good team but one injury and their rotation might be one of the worst in baseball. If dice-K and buchholz do come back strong they are a very good team.
5.Angels/cards. I cannot really decide between them. both are not as good as the top4 though in my opinion. the cards lose pujols but get wainwright back. there is a question mark whether molina and berkman can repeat their years though. the angels have great pitching. their hitting is still not the best but with albert of course they got a mighty addition.

    honorable mentions:
-Rangers: they will field a good team however there is a question if they can replace wilson. how good will darvish be?
-Giants: still very good pitching and posey will be back
-rays: very good pitching, so so hitting. they will be in contention but I think they will finish a close third in the AL east.

    post your top 5 too.

    I'm predicting a Padres-Mariners World Series.
The Mets have the best, smartest fans in baseball.

Wow would that be a ratings nightmare or what.

Will be low scoring to boot, two bad teams playing in the two worst hitter's park.

          In no particular order:

          Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, Rangers,

Any of these teams could fight it out for the 5th spot: Angels, Cardinals, Rays, Giants, Braves

And a few sleepers: Reds, Rockies, Nationals, Marlins

As a NYY fan, I do fear the Rangers... I wonder how Darvish is going to do. Not only will he be playing at the highest level now, he wil also be pitching in the worst pitcher's park in MLB.

Well if they made it so far as the World Series, I think you presume that neither club would be "bad".

                  1. Yankees
                  2. Angels
                  3. Tigers
                  4. Phillies
                  5. Rangers

Rays, Reds, Giants, Cardinals, Marlins (ugh)

The AL is so much stronger than the NL.

                    1. Cubs (yup)
                    2. Red Sox
                    3. Phillies
                    4. Yankees
                    5. Rays

I dislike the Rangers because of Washington and that their division is the easiest in the AL yet everyone acts like they're a superior team worthy of consecutive pennants.

The Phillies are the only NL team I can put on my list. From the AL there are the Yanks, Rangers, Tigers and Angels are the immediate four that jump out at me. The BoSox are also a 90 win team.

The AL is going to be very interesting this year, and for the next few years. The NL may be the inferior league for the next few years.

The Miami Marlins. You read it here first. Josh Johnson is coming back, and Mark Buehrle has the most wins in Interleague games in history, he feasts on the NL. Ozzie Guillen can light a fire under Hanley Ramirez. I'm a little worried about Carlos Zambrano, but Ozzie's a friend of his, hopefully Zambrano wiill be motivated to play for him.
They call me Mr. Baseball. Not because of my love for the game; because of all the stitches in my head.
