  • Most improved divison?

What do you think? last year I thought the NL central was improved a lot with the brewers getting some good pitchers. this year of course that divison got a huge hit by losing pujols and fielder.

I think this years most improved division is the NL east. It used to be pretty weak in the last years (although the braves won the WC in 2010 and nearly won it again in 2011) but I think that division really improved a lot mostly due to the marlins shopping tour.

they now have 3 real playoff candidates (phillies, marlins, braves) and the nationals are a young talented team on the rise. the only real bad team are the mets (who thought that in 2006?) so the NL central should be clearly the strongest division in the NL. I would not be surprised if both wildcards (is the change this season already?) came from there.

In the AL the most improved divion must be the NL west. the AL east is still the strongest division of course (and might have even gotten stronger with the rays improving their roster) but the AL west also improved a lot. the angels got pujols and wilson and texas is still a very good team. and seattle also might have their low point behind them although they still have a lot to do before they are contenders again.

The AL central is still pathetic. the tigers are very good but the twins and white sox suck. KC is on a good way but they still have a way to go before they are contenders especially in their pitching. I would not be surprised if the tigers win 100, that might be the worst division in baseball.

i had to vote for the AL west. with the addition of Albert and CJ Wilson and Texas getting Yu Darvish i just think overall the AL west is the most improved. especially over the last couple years.

I'm voting for the NL East.

      The Mets have Hulk Hogan.

That and the gradual improvements the Mariners have been making. I can't think of one team out there that didn't get better (granted, the A's only got incrementally better, but still)

yeah. but I think that is true for the NL east too. the nationals also gradually improved from being the worst team in baseball. and miami got a lot better too (buehrle, reyes).
I don't think philly will win 100 again in that division. It's a strong division now. but both divisions certainly did improve.

The more that i think about it, i think i should have voted for the NL east. the Nationals have improved so much that i wouldnt be surprised at all if the win the division in the couple years, plus all the additions that the Marlins have made. however, i cant think of anything off the top of my head of moves that the Braves and Mets made.

The Braves traded Derek Lowe to the Indians. The Mets signed Frank Francisco and Jon Rauch to bolster the bullpen, which blew several saves late in the season.

And the Mets have Hulk Hogan.

oh thats right i forgot about the derek lowe trade. that was one of the first moves made this offseason if i remember correctly.

The Mets are the new favorite to win the World Series with the addition of Hulkamania if you ask me.:applaud:

                  I voted AL West.

The Angels improved vastly w/ CJ Wilson and Pujols, the Rangers replaced CJ with Darvish, the M's have improved with getting rid of some excess baggage they had at the beginning of last season and with Montero and Noesi to go along with lots of young talent, they look a lot better and the A's... well, maybe they haven't all improved... unless Manny can pull something off after his suspension.

Edit: The A's did sign Cuban hopeful Cespedes, so that could turn out to be something as well.
