The Mets have reportedly agreed to pay $162 million in the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme lawsuit. However since they were investors with Madoff as well, they could potentially regain some of those assets when the recovered funds are redistributed.

I fervently hope for a change in ownership because they are incompetent. They have made many stupid baseball decisions from the draft to signing free agents and the ownership's financial issues have distracted the media and fans from action on the field. They would like to win but they have everything go wrong under their leadership. They've failed to promote a winning atmosphere and ruined the team's brand and fan-base. I do not like this.
A new ownership is needed in Flushing. The Mets have the best, smartest fans in baseball.

The worst possible news. Until the Coupons sell, we will be stuck in the abyss of horrible baseball. The fans need to make their message heard, by staying away from Citi this season. Force this horrrible ownership group to lose more $ to the point where they have to sell. It shouldnt be hard as this team will be brutal this year.unknown brooklyn cabbie " how are the brooks doin"
unknown fan "good they got three men on base"
unknown brooklyn cabbie "which one?"

A thought.
One of those supposedly likely to testify was Sandy Koufax. Why? He invested with Madoff. Why did he do so? Because he and Fred Wilpon have been pals since they were growing up. Now, would Wilpon have stuck it to one of his closest friends who is known for being a stand-up guy? I'm sorry, but I don't see it.
