Well ladies and gentlemen, even though the first Regular Season game in America isnt until next Wednesday with opening night in South Florida, today is the start of the regular season as the Oakland A's take on the Mariners in the Tokyo Dome! My question is are you ready for some baseball and what do you think will happen this season.

I don't understand the need to open the season at the Tokyo Dome. The Japanese League doesn't open at Dodger Stadium. -

Mariners won in extra innings. Ichiro went 4-5.
It was playing on the radio on the way to work this morning, was interesting listening to the different sounds of a Japanese crowd. They sure cheered Ichiro's last hit, that's for sure. No suprise here, sounded like a baseball savvy crowd, making appropriate noises and whatnot. Didn't get to hear any organized songs or chants though darnit. Guess those are made for the home teams.Comment

Playing games abroad is fine, but the games shouldn't count. Just play a couple spring training games at the end of March.Comment
