Agreed. I'd rather a game take 20 minutes longer and get the calls right, than have botched up games that take less time.
Not like any of us have anything better to do with those 20 minutes? If we did, we wouldn't be wasting so much time at BBF.1885 1886 1926 1931 1934 1942 1944 1946 1964 1967 1982 2006 2011

I was willing to overlook the mis-spelling of Jeffrey Maier in the first paragraph, but once I read "bozillian" I was done. I see no reason to waste my time with amateurish dribble I don't agree with in the first place.San Francisco Giants, World Series Champions in 2010, 2012, and 2014!!!

maybe do it like in tennis were players can now challenge calls of the linesman with an electronic system. you only get 3 challenges per set. however if you get it right you get another chance so as long you are right you could theoretically do this infinitely (like hitting foul balls with 2 strikes). you could say 2 challenges per team and game but another one if you are right. this would encourage only doing it if you are really sure.
I now have my own non commercial blog about training for batspeed and power using my training experience in baseball and track and field.

I think it's absolutely necessary. We already use it, every game, to condemn umpires for horrible calls. Maybe the umpires should push for it so they can get it right on the field and not have to worry about the backlash that they receive when they blow a call.
On the Mariners home opener, Cespedes of Oakland made a diving catch in shallow right center field. The play made ESPN's Top Ten Plays. But everyone at the stadium saw the replay which clearly showed he trapped the ball. Sure enough, the crowd let the umpire know what they thought of his call. How hard would it be to offer one challenge every three innings? Thirty seconds for video review? You'll lose, maybe, two minutes of game play. No big deal.Swing and a drive! This one is deep! This one is... over the fence and into the neighbor's yard!
