It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning. It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.

Oh god, that Verlander no-hitter. I think I drank a whole bottle of brandy that night.

There are also some massive boxed sets due out in a few months, for the Red Sox (Fenway 100th) and the Mets (50th).

Mr. Beam: Do you have a link to this information? I'm curious as to whether these will be available on Blu-ray. Thanks.
They call me Mr. Baseball. Not because of my love for the game; because of all the stitches in my head.

^ No, no Blu-Ray for any of these.

            I found them on Amazon.com.

The Chicago Cubs have had essential games? Who knew?

^ I wasn't expecting that one, but mainly because there is ALREADY a Cubs boxed set that has been out for several years. Here it is.

I was going to make a joke like that, but my PM box is already filled with enough angry messages from Cardinals fans and a certain Dodgers fan who thinks Bud Selig and I conspired to give that cheater Ryan Braun the MVP award and steal it from Kemp. I don't need any angry messages from Cubs fans if I had made a crack about their lack of recent success.

Lack of recent success meaning lack of success since World War Two.

But, all joking aside, the Cubs have a lot of fans, and a lot of fans with disposable income. I'm sure MLB found some classic games from the Ernie Banks/Ron Santo era to package into this DVD set.

Here's some links to the upcoming boxed sets by the Red Sox and Mets.

There is also a separate DVD about the 100th anniversary of Fenway Park, although I'm not sure if it is also included within the larger Red Sox boxed set. Nor do I know which actual games will be included in either of those aforementioned boxes.

^ Yeah, I'd love a "September 28" set. I have the O's/Redsox game from that day, I bought it off iTunes (naturally I don't particularly want to see the Rays/Yankees game ).

Thanks for the heads-up, Mr. Laser Beam. I've already pre-ordered both boxes, which, according to Amazon, will be released Sep 18.

As for the single-disc Red Sox release, I can't imagine it not being a part of the much larger 12-disc box.

Lastly, I don't know if it's been noted yet, but a 5-disc Astros 50th Anniversary set was released yesterday.
                            Put it in the books.

A dvd set on "day 162" would be great. There is a book about it - http://www.amazon.com/Baseballs-Star...=INW1SGC0GSUVP
