I may be biased -- and frankly, I despise the ASG, especially with its influence on the postseason -- but it's about time.
    Put it in the books.

I like the ASG, but I agree with you on its influence on the postseason. It should go back to alternating every year who gets home field advantage during the WS or the team who had the best regular season record.

Home field advantage during the postseason should definitely be performance based. Especially now when it seems there are going to be 346 more wild card teams, there has to be some kind of an incentive for a team to play their best - otherwise, there's no real reason for the players to care whether they finish first or second.
Please help. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer last summer, and now I'm in a position where I need financial assistance. For the full story, please check out my GoFundMe campaign at https://gofund.me/3874ea2d. Thank you.

Really? The MLB All-Star Game is the one all star game of the four pro sports that actually resembles a real game and not just a scoring contest.

The NBA game is an offensive explosion, the Pro Bowl is a glorified flag football game (and may get deep sixed), and the NHL always has some gimmicky premise.

MLB feels most like a real game with a score you might expect in a regular season game.

I just don't like the ASG. Never have, never will. Do I really need a reason other than its influence on the postseason? I have them if they're really required.

It escapes me why MLB won't just have the World Series team with the better record have the home-field advantage in the Series. The NBA and NHL do this for their championship series without any problems (and of course, the NFL stages their championship game at a neutral site selected years in advance, so there is absolutely no controversy) I guess baseball just has to be different.

an exhibition game deciding home field advantage for the world series championship is still arguably the dumbest idea in sports and will continue to be until it's changed.

I lived in Washington DC for a year when they didn't have a team -- they felt they should have a chance to host. I agreed.
If I lived in Seattle, I'd rather Japan get the All-Star game than give up a home game.

The Superdome in New Orleans has occasionally had baseball as well.

I dont think any one should be that suprised its pretty much a given if you build a new stadium, or in the case of Kansas City this year do big renovations, you get an All-Star Game. 2014 will probably be in Minnesota and then Miami in 2015.
Lets Go Yankees, Valley Cats, Dutchmen, UT Spartans and ECU Pirates.

Honestly (and I was joking in the previous post), that is the logical way to do things. This was inevitable.

                            What about (New) Yankee Stadium?

I cant imagine it being real soon since they just had an All Star game at OYS in 2008.
