About the same level as Jon Lester and Jared Weaver.
I would say he has the highest ceiling but he was a little inconsistent early in his career. he seems to have worked that out but he needs quite a few great seasons to reach the level of halladay.

I would say he's the best right now. What other pitcher would you take over him? Maybe Kershaw or Strasburg. If there was a draft it would be hard to not pick Verlander as the number 1 guy.

Damned Pirates, can't they do anything right?

I'm starting to think this Verlander kid might be pretty good.

    Verlander just misses another no-no

Justin Verlander comes up two outs short of his 3rd career no-hitter. Is he the best pitcher of his generation? I love how deep he pitches into games. This was his 51st consecutive start of at least six innings. He's definitely my favorite non-Giants pitcher.

From ESPN: Four of the five pitchers with at least three no-hitters are in the Hall of Fame: Nolan Ryan (seven), Sandy Koufax (four), Bob Feller (three) and Cy Young (three). Larry Corcoran, an ambidextrous pitcher who won 177 games from 1880-85, is the other one.
