  • Bad umpiring or right call?

To give some info on this the day before AJ slid hard into 2nd and spiked Ben Zobrists in the first inning Cobb plunked AJ i think as retaliation then this happened and Home plate Umpire Ejected the white sox Pitcher for throwing wayyyyy behind Zobrist. And as you can see/hear in video the White Sox Announcers lose it completely. Oh and can i add the expression on Ben's Face is Priceless.

I would say it was a bad call. The Whitesox get hit two times and a third buzzed the face of I think Viciendo yet the Whitesox dont even hit their guy and he gets tossed. I'm sure he did it on purpose but least he was throwing behind the hitter and below the waist.

I do think Hawk Harrelson went a little overboard. But it was kinda amusing.

"I have the ultimate respect for Whitesox fans. They were as miserable as the Cubs and Redsox fans ever were but always had the good decency to keep it to themselves. AJ i think was a fool to tell his pitcher to do that though..... AJ should of know he was gonna get plunked after the game he spiked a guy for no reason. Rays announcers were amused as well.

Had there been any warnings given? If so, not much the ump can do. If not, then maybe the warning should have happened after that pitch to stop the nonsense.

Oh, and yes Hawk Harrelson is a joke.

Had either side been warned? I think a warning first would have made sense. But an outright rejection on that pitch seems a little harsh.

I love Hawk Harrelson. His reaction to that call made me laugh pretty hard. The best line is the half teeth-gritted "What are you doin', Wegner?"

Actually it doesn't matter if there were warnings issued or not. The umpire can still decide there was no intent..

No there weren't any warnings issues at all which is why i think everyone was surprised he got tossed.
