I never knew they were teammates. Mota and Borbon.

    Anyways R.I.P. Nice career

"I have the ultimate respect for Whitesox fans. They were as miserable as the Cubs and Redsox fans ever were but always had the good decency to keep it to themselves. And when they finally won the World Series, they celebrated without annoying every other fan in the country."--Jim Caple, ESPN (Jan. 12, 2011)

I saw that Pedro asked that no memorial service be held in his honor.
Anybody know the reason for this request? Seems very odd to me, I wondered if it might be related to his religion.

I don't think there was a more prolific signer in the Cincinnati area from those Big Red Machine teams than Pedro Borbon. It was something you could count on.

I was looking at Borbon's BBR page. It says in 1965 he was on the "Disqualified List". Does anyone know the story behind this?

Don't know, but he would have been 18.
