  • Tommy Lasorda suffers heart attack, hospitalized

    This is just breaking.

    From sporting news

Los Angeles Dodgers Hall of Famer Tommy Lasorda suffered a mild heart attack Monday in New York, according to TMZ.com.

Lasorda, 84, was in town to represent the Dodgers at the MLB draft. However, he wasn’t in attendance during the second day of the event today.

Sources told TMZ.com that Lasorda is OK and is expected to be released from the hospital Wednesday.

Lasorda managed the Dodgers from 1976-1996, winning two World Series titles and four National League pennants. He was named NL manager of the year in 1983 and 1988.

He was voted into the Hall of Fame in 1997 by the Veterans Committee.
Lasorda is a great character for baseball, hope he gets well soon.

He's a jerk of a human being, but I wouldn't wish something like this upon my worst enemy. I hope he makes a full recovery soon.
    My top 10 players:

    1. Babe Ruth
    2. Barry Bonds
    3. Ty Cobb
    4. Ted Williams
    5. Willie Mays

I see great things in baseball. It's our game - the American game.

Get well Tommy. I'm a long time Giants' fan but the Giant/Dodger rivalry wouldn't be the same without having you around to boo!
