Short term Trout is currently winning this, offensively and defensively...however do you think this trend will continue or do you think Harper will be the better pro?

I think harper. trouts power will increase but I think harper is a guy that will hit 40-50 dongs a year while I think trout will be a high average hitter with 20-30 HRs (a hitter like abreu but a little higher average and a lot more speed).I now have my own non commercial blog about training for batspeed and power using my training experience in baseball and track and field.

Isn't it strange that Tim Salmon and Mike Trout both played for the Angels. There's something fishy going on in Anaheim. What next, are they going to trade for Mike Carp?My top 10 players:
1. Babe Ruth
2. Barry Bonds
3. Ty Cobb
4. Ted Williams
5. Willie Mays
6. Alex Rodriguez
7. Hank Aaron
8. Honus Wagner
9. Lou Gehrig
10. Mickey Mantle

I'm going to go with Harper based mostly on age. Bryce is over a year younger than Mike and is hitting much better so far this season than Mike did last year. Playing well in the majors at either one of their ages is a powerful predictor of maturing into a really good to great player, but I'll take the younger guy, anyway. I also agree with dominik that Harper seems to have more power potential."If I drink whiskey, I'll never get worms!" - Hack Wilson

As for Bryce Harper and Mike Trout I think it's way too early to say who will be "better".

They are both pretty special players. I'd be more inclined to pull for Trout at this point, simply because I don't like Harper's attitude, but he's obviously going to be pretty damn good. Both are potential HOF material.San Francisco Giants, World Series Champions in 2010, 2012, and 2014!!!

I think Trout will be a special player, a routine 5-7 WAR player.
Maybe Harper will as well. But, Harper has much much much more potential. This guy has a 153 ops+ at 19, and is currently sporting an isolated power rating that is above all but about 50 players ever.
