  • Best Player in Baseball

Who do you think is the best player in baseball? I'd have to go with Votto. I also think he's been the most consistently productive player since 2009.

I think its an age where it is very hard for a player to dominate. Consider that Cabrera, Braun, Kemp and Votto have yet to produce an 8 WAR season, Hamilton's top is 8.4, though I think Kemp's defense took a hit in the NEW WAR.

Votto is a better defensive version of Cabrera, so Votto wins out there.
Unlike Hamilton, Votto stays healthy, so I will take Votto.
Overall, Votto has been a better hitter than Braun by a little bit, so I will go with Votto.
I am not sure Kemp shouldn't win the battle, but I will give it to the guy healthy right now.

Oh. I thought it was just because these new-fangled players are just not as good as how they cranked them out in the old days.

I will vote Ryan Braun because no one else will.

Plus, he would have more RBIs if the Brewers didn't stink this year.

Hey, I voted Braun too! I think he is the best all-around player in the game. Kemp and Hamilton have the skills, but Braun has a better track record and stays healthy.

And they may not be having great years at the moment, but Tulowitzki and Longoria are definitely in the conversaation.

They are both too injury prone to be considered the best, in my opinion. They don't help you when they're not on the field. I have to go with Votto right now.
They call me Mr. Baseball. Not because of my love for the game; because of all the stitches in my head.

Mauer? Seriously? He has nose-dived over the last several years

The same logic that got Ross Perot 8% of the popular vote in '92

He's just now getting healthy again, hitting .382 in his last 20 games. Sadly as long as he's in Minnesota I doubt will see him get his 4th batting title because the Twins have no protection for him in the lineup.
