  • AL wins interleague again

    2012 results AL 142 NL 110

Texas went 14-4 Colorado went 2-13

some reasons I have heard for this include:
    - better management, better GMs
    - better and higher payrolls
    1. The more I learn, the more convinced I am that many players are over-rated due to inflated stats from offensive home parks (and eras)

I dont think the Whitesox did too well this year. The Cubs, Dodger's, Cardinals and Astros all won series vs em. Although the Sox did sweep the Cubs in Wrigley so that was somewhat worthwhile. I used to really enjoy interleague but even these Cub series are getting boring.
"(Shoeless Joe Jackson's fall from grace is one of the real tragedies of baseball. I always thought he was more sinned against than sinning." -- Connie Mack

"I have the ultimate respect for Whitesox fans. They were as miserable as the Cubs and Redsox fans ever were but always had the good decency to keep it to themselves. And when they finally won the World Series, they celebrated without annoying every other fan in the country."--Jim Caple, ESPN (Jan. 12, 2011)

good point. the big market teams like boston, NY play a role but there are also less "suck" teams in the AL.

I think the smarter GMs/managers) also play a role. I think the sabermetric approach is much bigger in the AL while in the NL tradional guys dominate. the red sox use this stuff a lot (ok they are not really good right now) and a lot of AL teams now use maddons radical defensive alignments. they also know how to construct lineups and less frequently use terms like "he's a gamer" (since you are a giants fan you know that phrase).
I now have my own non commercial blog about training for batspeed and power using my training experience in baseball and track and field.
