I vote "Doesn't matter" on the poll.
Baseball is the one sport where home-field advantage has no benefit.
They can continue to base home-field advantage on the AS game; they can alternate every other year; or they can go with whoever has the better regular season record.
It simply doesn't matter.

I don't prefer the way it currently is.
1. Allow the team which advances to the World Series with the best won-loss percentage have the home field advantage. Even if baseball teams don't enjoy as big of an advantage as other sports . . . allow this for the FANS. The team with HFA fans will potentially get one more game in which to attend compared to their home team's opponents fans. If your a true baseball fan, you know this is important as well, to a fan.
OR
2. If they insist on making the All-Star game winning league decide the HFA for the series . . . stretch the All-Star break to 5-6 days and allow the manager to strategize absolute! Let him play his best team for 9 innings (barring extra innings of course). Allow his starting pitcher to go 7-8-9 innings . . . don't play every member of the team merely to play them and give them an appearance. If something as important as HFA is to be decided with this contest, measures should be taken to allow league representative team to do all they can to win the game. Obviously, the longer break is to insure starting pitchers could slip right back into their own teams rotation without short rest. Some's basturds, some's ain't, thats the score.
